National Apprenticeship Week

In National Apprenticeship Week Harris Irwin would like to give a shout out to our FIVE brilliant apprentices: Alex, Bethany, Ebonnee, Rachel and Simon who have all started Northumbria University’s Architect Degree Apprenticeship. The ARB accredited programme is a four-year, part-time course and the pathway includes RIBA Part 2 and Part 3 qualifications, and we are proud to support the initiative.
Rob McCartney, Associate at Harris Irwin, said: “Settling quickly into their roles, our degree apprentices are bringing fresh ideas and imaginative solutions to the practice and have become highly respected members of the business. We work closely with the team at Northumbria University and together support the apprentices in developing skills such as critical thinking, communication, and design expertise.”
Alex Harris added: “The degree apprenticeship is fantastic as we can develop our practical and professional skills under the excellent mentorship and leadership of the senior team at Harris Irwin which gives us live project insights to relate to our studies. It can be challenging juggling the demands of study and work and managing deadlines, but the pros far outweigh the cons, by gaining so much relevant experience as well as minimising debt.”
