Mulfords Hall, Tadley

Harris Irwin are pleased to share our recent work on a 68 bed care home in Tadley. The scheme which was recently validated was done on behalf of Boutique Care Homes working in conjunction with Gillings Planning to deliver a high quality modern care home.

The design uses traditional materials and architectural detailing to provide a care home that is sympathetic to its context and maintain a homely welcoming feel.

The position of neighbouring properties has been a key design influence for the massing of this care home project. To avoid overlooking the proposed mass is stepped back from the south eastern site boundary. The proximity of other surrounding buildings has been considered but are far enough away to comfortably allow for 2.5 story elements within the proposed building mass.

The roof design is a mix of true pitched roofs and crown roofs, this again helps reduce the height of the building whilst still allowing usable internal spaces within the roof void. The crown roofs will not be visible when viewing the building rom eye level and will have the appearance of traditional built forms.
