World Alzheimer’s month

As September is upon us we are celebrating, World Alzheimer’s month which is a global opportunity to raise dementia awareness and support people affected by the disease.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and at Harris Irwin a significant amount of our projects involve designing to support those living with dementia. We Design with Dementia at the forefront of our schemes ensuring the best principles of dementia design are included from the outset to ease anxiety, reduce confusion and create opportunities for sufferers to live as full and enjoyable as lives for as long as possible.

It is a very sad and sobering fact that dementia is now the UK’s biggest killer and is the largest health and social care issue of our time.
